WEST COAST RAILWAY ASSOCIATION HOSTS 64,587 GUESTS IN 2007
The numbers are in, and it's good news to report. The West Coast Railway
Association saw growth once again in 2007 as it hosted a total of 64,587
guests at its events and attractions in 2007. The numbers break down this
way:
- West Coast Railway Heritage Park (Squamish) 38,201 guest visits
- Locomotive 374 Pavilion (Vancouver, at the Roundhouse Community
Centre) 10,860 guest visits*
- Western Rails Railroadiana Show (Burnaby, annual event in March)
1,200 guests
- West Coast Mini Rail community events (various locations) 13,240
passengers carried
- West Coast Rail Tours guests 1,086 guests
- Total guests 64,587 . (up from 57,615 in 2006)
The WCRA has a target goal of hosting 100,000 guests by 2010 - we are on
track towards this milestone.
*It should be noted that the 374 Pavilion was closed due the Vancouver civic
workers strike for much of the peak season
