No. 65940 is designated "Shovel Operator's Bunk" and No. 71089 "Engineer's Bunk".
They both belonged to Cansteam along with Ohio crane No. 2055 and formed the support
cars for the crane.
No. 71089 is much as it would have been during its working life for Canadian National
Railway. It provided a comfortable home and office for the Engineer while he was in
charge of construction jobs out on the line.
It is presented at the Park complete with some of the tools of the trade, typewriters,
survey instruments and early radio telephones. The small wood stove keeps the interior
cosy and warm even on the coldest days due no doubt to the sawdust and shavings
insulation in the walls of the car.
